Rolex Submariner 124060

The Submariner without a date: 41 mm Oystersteel, a black Cerachrom bezel and calibre 3230.

The 124060 is the current-generation Submariner without a date, introduced in 2020 as the successor to the 114060. Without a date window and without a Cyclops lens the dial is fully symmetrical, which for many enthusiasts makes this the purest form of the Submariner, the dive watch Rolex introduced in 1953.

Like the Submariner Date, the case grew to 41 mm, with slimmer lugs and a slightly wider bracelet. Calibre 3230 is the version of the 3235 without a date mechanism, with the same Chronergy escapement and about 70 hours of power reserve. Case and bracelet are in Oystersteel, the bezel has a black Cerachrom insert, and the Triplock crown makes the watch water-resistant to 300 metres.

Because the 124060 exists in a single version, black on black, two examples differ mainly in condition and set. In our assessment we look at the bezel insert, which can crack from a hard knock, at the clasp with Glidelock, at polishing marks on the case and at the presence of box, guarantee card and booklets. The date on the guarantee card shows whether any manufacturer's warranty is still running.

Questions about the 124060

What is the difference between the 124060 and the 114060?

The 124060 has a 41 mm case instead of 40 mm, with narrower lugs, and calibre 3230 with about 70 hours of power reserve instead of the 3130 with about 48 hours. Both have a black Cerachrom bezel and no date.

Why do buyers choose a Submariner without a date?

For the symmetry: without a date window and Cyclops lens the dial stays calm, as on the first Submariners. Technically the two are equivalent; the choice is mainly a matter of taste and use.

Can I sell or trade in my 124060 with you?

Yes. You can offer a 124060 as an outright sale, on consignment or as a trade-in against another watch. Every request is assessed by hand; a proposal only follows afterwards and is never guaranteed in advance. Read more in our guide to selling.

What if no 124060 is available?

Then we search for one. Use watch sourcing to tell us which version, condition and set you are looking for. We will contact you as soon as we find a suitable example; whether and when that happens cannot be guaranteed in advance.
