Rolex Submariner Date 116610LN

The Submariner Date from 2010 to 2020: 40 mm, a ceramic Cerachrom bezel and calibre 3135.

The 116610LN was the Submariner Date from 2010 to 2020 and marked a clear step on from the 16610. The bezel gained a ceramic Cerachrom insert that does not fade and hardly scratches; the case became more substantial, with broader lugs and larger crown guards, and the dial received larger indices and broader hands.

The bracelet gained solid end links and the Glidelock clasp, which adjusts the length in small steps without tools. Inside works calibre 3135, a proven movement with a power reserve of about 48 hours. Case and bracelet are made of 904L steel, which Rolex has called Oystersteel since 2018; the watch measures 40 mm and is water-resistant to 300 metres. In 2020 it was followed by the 126610LN, with calibre 3235 and a 41 mm case.

As a pre-owned watch the 116610LN remains in demand, among others with buyers who prefer the more substantial case to the slimmer lines of its successor. In our assessment we look at the condition of the bezel insert, the luminous material, the clasp and any polishing marks, and at the completeness of the set. The guarantee card states the serial number and purchase date and must match the watch.

Questions about the 116610LN

What is the difference between the 116610LN and the 126610LN?

The 116610LN measures 40 mm, has broader lugs and calibre 3135 with about 48 hours of power reserve. The 126610LN measures 41 mm, has slimmer lugs and calibre 3235 with about 70 hours. Both have the bezel, the date with Cyclops lens and the Glidelock clasp.

Does a 116610LN still have a manufacturer's warranty?

The last examples were sold around 2020, so the five-year Rolex guarantee has expired on almost all of them. The date on the guarantee card is decisive. Separately, a consumer purchase carries the statutory warranty; see our warranty terms.

Can I sell or trade in my 116610LN with you?

Yes. You can offer a 116610LN as an outright sale, on consignment or as a trade-in against another watch. Every request is assessed by hand; a proposal only follows afterwards and is never guaranteed in advance. Read more in our guide to selling.

What if no 116610LN is available?

Then we search for one. Use watch sourcing to tell us which version, condition and set you are looking for. We will contact you as soon as we find a suitable example; whether and when that happens cannot be guaranteed in advance.
