The 79030N is the Black Bay Fifty-Eight with black dial and black bezel, introduced in 2018. The name refers to 1958, the year of the Tudor diver reference 7924, which served as the model for the design: gilt accents on the dial, snowflake hands and a bezel with an anodised aluminium insert.
At 39 mm and about 12 mm thick, the Fifty-Eight is smaller and thinner than the 41 mm Black Bay, and therefore wearable on more wrists. The in-house calibre MT5402 has no date, a power reserve of about 70 hours and a COSC certificate. The watch is water-resistant to 200 metres and was supplied on a steel bracelet or on a strap.
On a pre-owned example we look at the aluminium bezel insert, which scratches more easily than ceramic, at the luminous material and gilt details, at the bracelet and clasp, and at the completeness of the set. For a version on a strap we state whether the original buckle is present. The same case and movement exist in blue as the 79030B.
