Tudor Pelagos 25600TN

The titanium Pelagos: a 42 mm dive watch, water-resistant to 500 metres, with a helium valve and calibre MT5612.

The 25600TN is the titanium Pelagos, introduced in 2015 as the successor to the 25500TN. It was one of the first Tudors with an in-house calibre: the MT5612, with date, about 70 hours of power reserve and a COSC certificate.

The Pelagos is a professional dive watch: water-resistant to 500 metres, with an automatic helium valve for saturation diving, a unidirectional bezel with a ceramic insert and a bracelet with a spring-loaded extension clasp that gives as a diving suit is compressed under water. Case and bracelet are in titanium, which makes the watch remarkably light despite its 42 mm. Tudor supplied the Pelagos with a titanium bracelet and an additional rubber strap.

Titanium scratches differently from steel and is less easy to refinish; on a pre-owned example we therefore pay extra attention to the case and bracelet, and also to the ceramic bezel, the operation of the clasp and the completeness of the set, including the extra strap. Anyone looking for a more compact Pelagos will find it in the Pelagos 39; the Pelagos FXD is the version developed with the French Navy.

Questions about the 25600TN

What does the helium valve do?

During saturation diving, helium penetrates the case. During decompression the valve lets that gas escape automatically, so that the crystal is not forced out by the excess pressure. For ordinary diving and swimming it plays no part.

What is the difference between the Pelagos and the Pelagos 39?

The Pelagos measures 42 mm, is water-resistant to 500 metres and has a helium valve and a date. The Pelagos 39 is smaller, water-resistant to 200 metres and has neither a helium valve nor a date.

Can I sell or trade in my 25600TN with you?

Yes. You can offer a 25600TN as an outright sale, on consignment or as a trade-in against another watch. Every request is assessed by hand; a proposal only follows afterwards and is never guaranteed in advance. Read more in our guide to selling.
