Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding 15500ST

The 41 mm steel Royal Oak with date and the in-house calibre 4302, made from 2019 to 2022.

The 15500ST is the 41 mm steel Royal Oak Selfwinding with date that Audemars Piguet introduced in 2019 as the successor to the 15400ST. The main lines of Gérald Genta's design remained: the octagonal bezel with eight hexagonal screws, the integrated bracelet with tapering links and the Grande Tapisserie dial. The details changed, including broader indices and hands.

Inside is the in-house calibre 4302, a larger movement than the predecessor's 3120, with a frequency of 4 Hz and a power reserve of about 70 hours. The 22 ct gold rotor is visible through the display back. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.

The 15510ST followed as early as 2022, giving the 15500ST a relatively short production run. On a pre-owned example we look above all at the alternation of brushed and polished surfaces, because polishing marks on case and bracelet are easy to see on a Royal Oak, at the folding clasp and at the completeness of the set, with certificate and guarantee card.

Questions about the 15500ST

What is the difference between the 15500ST and the 15400ST?

The 15500ST has calibre 4302 instead of the 3120, with about 70 rather than about 60 hours of power reserve, and a revised dial with broader indices and hands. Case size and bracelet are comparable.

What is the difference between the 15500ST and the 15510ST?

Both have calibre 4302 and a 41 mm case. The 15510ST followed in 2022 with changes to the dial and finishing; the reference on the caseback and the certificate make the distinction.

Can I sell or trade in my 15500ST with you?

Yes. You can offer a 15500ST as an outright sale, on consignment or as a trade-in against another watch. Every request is assessed by hand; a proposal only follows afterwards and is never guaranteed in advance. Read more in our guide to selling.

What if no 15500ST is available?

Then we search for one. Use watch sourcing to tell us which version, condition and set you are looking for. We will contact you as soon as we find a suitable example; whether and when that happens cannot be guaranteed in advance.
