Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph 26240ST

The 41 mm steel Royal Oak Chronograph with the integrated in-house flyback calibre 4401.

The 26240ST is the 41 mm steel Royal Oak Chronograph, introduced in 2022. It was the first steel Royal Oak Chronograph with the integrated in-house calibre 4401, a chronograph movement with column wheel, vertical clutch and flyback function: a single press of the pusher returns the chronograph to zero and restarts it.

The power reserve is about 70 hours, and the movement is visible through the display back. The dial has a Grande Tapisserie pattern, and compared with its predecessor, the 26331ST, the proportions of dial and sub-dials were revised. The watch has a date and is water-resistant to 50 metres. Case and bracelet follow the Royal Oak design, with the octagonal bezel, the eight screws and the integrated bracelet.

On a pre-owned example we test the chronograph completely, including the flyback function, and look at the pushers and crown, at the alternation of brushed and polished surfaces on case and bracelet, and at the completeness of the set. Because the reference is recent, an example may still carry manufacturer's warranty.

Questions about the 26240ST

What is the difference between the 26240ST and the 26331ST?

The 26240ST has the integrated in-house calibre 4401 with flyback and about 70 hours of power reserve; the 26331ST has calibre 2385, based on a Frédéric Piguet movement, with about 40 hours. The dial was also revised.

What is a flyback?

A chronograph that you can reset and restart with a single press during a measurement. Without flyback you first have to stop, reset and start again.

Can I sell or trade in my 26240ST with you?

Yes. You can offer a 26240ST as an outright sale, on consignment or as a trade-in against another watch. Every request is assessed by hand; a proposal only follows afterwards and is never guaranteed in advance. Read more in our guide to selling.

What if no 26240ST is available?

Then we search for one. Use watch sourcing to tell us which version, condition and set you are looking for. We will contact you as soon as we find a suitable example; whether and when that happens cannot be guaranteed in advance.
