The 5500V/110A is the steel Overseas chronograph, introduced in 2016 with the third generation of the Overseas.
The case measures 42.5 mm and shares the features of the 4500V/110A: the bezel with notches evoking the Maltese cross, the integrated bracelet and the system for changing bracelet and straps without tools. The dial combines two sub-dials with a date.
Inside is the in-house calibre 5200, a self-winding chronograph movement with a column wheel and vertical clutch, and a power reserve of about 52 hours. The vertical clutch prevents the seconds hand from jumping when the chronograph is started. This calibre also bears the Hallmark of Geneva and is visible through the display back.
On a pre-owned example we test every function of the chronograph: start, stop and reset, and whether the hands return exactly to zero. We examine the pushers and crown, polishing marks on case and bezel, the bracelet and folding clasp, and the straps that belong with the watch.
How we weigh condition and set is explained in our guide to having a watch valued.
