The Q9068681 is the steel Polaris Date, with a 42 mm case. Jaeger-LeCoultre brought the Polaris back as a collection of its own in 2018, taking as its model the 1968 Memovox Polaris, a dive watch with an alarm.
The Polaris Date is the sports line in its simplest form: a date, luminous hands and indices, and a rotating inner bezel operated by a second crown.
Inside is an automatic in-house calibre from Jaeger-LeCoultre, calibre 899A/1, visible through the display back.
A Polaris is worn more often than a dress watch, and that shows on a pre-owned example. We assess the case with its alternation of polished and brushed surfaces, both crowns and their threads, the crystal and the strap or bracelet.
We test the rotation of the inner bezel, the automatic winding and the setting of time and date, and we compare the reference and serial number with the papers. On water resistance after a service we only state what we can substantiate.
For a more classic watch there is the Master Control Date Q4018420; more about selling your watch can be found in our guide to selling a watch.
